Field Operations Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW: Field Operations Technician

 

This position will be in support of Santa Fe Midstream Permian LLC 30-30 Gas Plant located near Denver City, Texas and surrounding areas supporting all field and plant duties as needed.


The Field Operations Technician is responsible for the overall operation of field gathering systems and / or pipeline systems associated with the transportation of natural gas, NGL and condensate.  Systems typically include Gas and Liquid Measurement, and other related processes and equipment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Field Operation technicians - work 8-hour shift with callout duties and some weekends worked

  • Support of processing facility compression and operations at times as needed

  • Inspect, maintain and repair as needed all facilities as assigned, including but not limited to pipelines, compression and measurement facilities

  • Knowledge and experience with line location equipment and techniques

  • Ability to read and utilize drawings, schematics and alignment sheets

  • On-call responsibility for areas of responsibility as needed

  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements, (OSHA, DOT, etc.) document required regulatory activities

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of procedures used to safely pig a pipeline, i.e. launching, receiving and inspection

  • Plan, organize and prioritize assigned responsibilities and work independently

  • Work independently as liaison between Santa Fe Midstream Permian LLC and outside entities, i.e. landowners, emergency response agencies, contractors and other pipeline companies

  • Operate and assist in maintenance activities at plant facility

  • Manage all activities with a focus on safety and compliance

  • Use proper tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on gas or liquids pipelines

  • Monitor activity in and around pipeline and facilities and respond as necessary to protect system integrity

  • Maintain required forms, records and reports

  • Respond to pipeline emergencies; perform cleanup associated with field ops and corrosion control activities

  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS): 

Education & License:

·         Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         Maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company

Experience:

·         Minimum 1-3 years related work experience required

Skills/Competencies:

·         Must have a mechanical aptitude

·         Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel and vendors

·         An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic

·         Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources

·         Regular and Reliable attendance

·         Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense

·         Intermediate computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook)

 

Preferred Qualifications 

·         Has a good understanding of utilizing horsepower and compression

·         Has a good understanding of pipeline operations

·         Previous Field Technician experience

·         Knowledge of and ability to utilize departmental budget and financial information to optimize operations (OPEX &

CAPEX)

·         Basic job-related computer knowledge

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

·         Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business

objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions

·         Ability to frequently throughout the work shift, push, pull and lift at least a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 3-

4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed

·         Ability to work outdoors in changing climate conditions

·         Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing

·         Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs and platforms at varying heights

·         Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex)

·         We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing

·         This role is subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Santa Fe Midstream

Permian LLC policy

·         Attend H2S Training, including Respirator Training, Medical Exam and Fit Testing
