Plant Operator


This job will be located at the Santa Fe Midstream Permian 30-30 Gas Plant located near Denver City, Texas and will consist of all Operations required for the plant.


  • Review and monitor plant operation/processes for optimizing quality and production of products meeting required data specifications. The responsibility of the technician is to work safely, have good trouble shooting skills on mechanical equipment (natural gas internal combustion engines, electric engines, natural gas compressors, electrical and pneumatic controls, pumps, and control equipment). Support of processing facility compression and operations at times as needed.

  • The schedule will consist of 12 hour rotating shifts and will require some weekends and holidays to be worked. 

  • The position also has associated overtime, as required. 

  • 30-30 gas plant has one NRU and propane system as well as NGL storage and pumps, gas amine treating with acid gas injection compression, and inlet and residue gas compression located at the plant.  A poly pipe gathering system feeds the gas plant. 

  • Perform routine shutdowns and startup of equipment and perform emergency procedures when required. 

  • Learn and understand Santa Fe Midstream Safety Policies and Procedures and Business Ethics Policies. Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner by utilizing the proper tools, safety and environmental precautions, permitting, and Process Safety Management. 

  • Training of co-workers in safe and proper job procedures.

  • Install equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves and perform general maintenance when needed.

  • Manage all activities with a focus on safety and compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Education & License:

·         Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent

·         Minimum of 2 years related work experience

·         Maintain a valid driver’s license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company

Preferred Qualifications 

High level experience in maintenance and operations of gas plants including compressors with engine or motor drivers, pumps, NRU operations and associated equipment 



  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense

  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize departmental budget and financial information to optimize operations (OPEX & CAPEX)

  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision

  • Intermediate computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business

    objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50 lbs

  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions

  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing

  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, FR


  • Attend H2S Training, including Respirator Training, Medical Exam and Fit Testing

  • Regular and Reliable Attendance

  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing
